Condition

This is an elegant and increasingly scarce vintage Baume & Mercier Geneve Baignoire in solid 18ct yellow gold from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, presented in excellent original condition. This stunning dress watch features a striking black gloss dial with applied gold-tone Roman numeral chapter ring, housed within a unique, solid 18ct gold, "baignoire" or bathtub-shaped case. The watch is powered by its original hand-wound Swiss movement, which is working perfectly, keeping excellent time within specifications. The watch retains its original Baume & Mercier signed black leather strap, original signed gold-plated buckle, and original Baume & Mercier Geneve swing tag.

Dial - The dial is in beautiful vintage condition, showing light charming patina and little wear on close inspection. 

Crown - The original gold fluted crown with a blue synthetic spinel cabochon is in excellent condition and works perfectly.

Case - The solid 18ct gold case is in excellent condition showing light signs of wear.

Back case - The original and stamped solid 18ct gold back case is in excellent condition, showing common light scratches and wear from servicing tools.

Movement - The original Baume & Mercier manual wind movement is in excellent condition, working very well and keeping perfect time within specification. 

Crystal - The original, domed mineral crystal is in fantastic condition, no visible marks, only fine surface scratches and little patina visible under special light and magnification.

Strap - The watch comes with its original strap and gold plated buckle, both are Baume & Mercier signed and remain in fantastic condition, showing only very little wear over the decades. The strap also has its retail Baume & Mercier Geneve tag attached.
