This exceptional vintage Breitling Geneve Top Time Chronograph, reference 2003, dates from 1965 and is one of the brand's most iconic chronograph designs. Produced in the very same year that a Breitling Top Time (ref. 2002) achieved cinematic fame on the wrist of Sean Connery as James Bond in Thunderball, this superb reference perfectly captures the bold sporting style that made the Top Time one of the defining chronographs of the 1960s.
The beautifully proportioned gold-plated case is paired with a striking reverse panda dial, featuring a deep black main dial contrasted by silver subsidiary registers. Applied gilt baton hour markers, elegant gilt hands and the tachymeter scale combine to create a sporting aesthetic. Powered by its original manual-wind chronograph movement, the watch is presented in exceptional vintage condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. It is running perfectly, keeping excellent time within specification, with the chronograph functions operating exactly as they should.
Dial - The dial looks spectacular and shows just light wear and some age on hands and lume, which is only visible on closer inspection and under certain lighting.
Crystal - The crystal is in excellent condition and displays the dial crisply and clearly. There are some signs of light wear around edges, only visible under loupe.
Case - The gold plated case is in lovely vintage condition showing some wear which only adds to its 1960s vintage charm.
Strap - We have put this watch on a new leather strap which suits the watch perfectly.
Back case - The back case is original, in very good vintage condition showing some wear and age. All markings are clearly visible.
Movement - The manual movement is in excellent cosmetic condition as well as working very well mechanically. The watch is keeping excellent time within specification.
Crown - The crown and pushers are in great condition, original and fully functional.
For a watch of this age, this piece is in spectacular order and is ready to wear!
