Condition

An extraordinary and rare pre-war ladies’ Cartier manual-wind wristwatch, dating from the 1930s/1940s, presented in a solid 14ct gold case with an integrated bracelet. Its most striking features are the intricately detailed lugs and bracelet, adorned with rubies and diamonds. The original salmon-coloured dial, with its fine brushed finish, is complemented by painted Arabic numerals, round baton indices and elegant blued leaf hands.

This exceptional piece is offered in stunning, remarkably well-preserved vintage condition throughout. A truly elegant and collectible example of Cartier craftsmanship, it is accompanied by its original clamshell presentation box bearing the seldom-found 1930s Cartier signature. The box is itself a rare find and remains in exceptional condition for its age, although the closing mechanism is no longer functioning.

The watch retains its original movement, which is running strongly and keeping time well within expected vintage specifications.

Dial – The original dial is in brilliant condition, displaying only very light natural signs of age and fine wear, visible only under magnification.

Case – The original 14ct gold case is in fantastic condition for its age, showing only light signs of vintage wear. The rubies display light wear consistent with age.

Crown – The original crown is in excellent working order and retains excellent vintage cosmetic condition.

Movement – The watch is powered by its original manual-wind movement, which is running strongly and keeping excellent time within expected vintage specifications.

Case Back – The original 14ct gold case back is in excellent condition, showing only light signs of vintage wear.

Crystal – The acrylic crystal is in mint condition.

Bracelet – The original 14ct gold bracelet is in excellent, well-preserved condition and complements the watch beautifully.

For a watch of this age, this example is in truly spectacular order and remains an exceptionally desirable and wearable piece. Its rarity is further enhanced by the presence of its original presentation box.
