History and Condition

An uncommon mid-century Cartier wristwatch in solid 14K gold with an integrated bracelet, this piece reflects an era when Cartier’s three founding houses, Paris, London, and New York, operated with considerable independence and worked with specialist Swiss suppliers. This example was made by the Concord Watch Company specifically for Cartier New York. Founded in 1908 in Biel, Switzerland, Concord supplied high-quality precious-metal watches to leading jewellers, including Cartier, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Together, the Concord-made gold case and bracelet, Cartier-signed dial, and Concord-signed manual-wind movement make this an evocative example of the specialist collaborations associated with Cartier New York during the mid-century period.

The watch features a silver-tone dial with gilt baton hour markers, framed by a slim rectangular solid 14K-gold case and integrated bracelet. Its textured bark-effect finish gives the bracelet a distinctive, luxurious character. The Swiss manual-wind movement is running excellently within vintage specifications and the watch itself remains in fantastic condition. This Cartier is accompanied by a vintage Carter presentation box.

A distinctive collector’s piece, it offers a rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully made example of Cartier New York retail history.
