Condition

This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most distinctive and highly collectible Cartier Santos Octagon, dating to 1983, complete with original paperwork and an exceptionally uncommon configuration. The highlight of this remarkable piece is its striking burgundy lacquer dial, one of the most sought-after and elusive dial variations produced for the Santos Octagon. Complementing the dial is an equally unusual ruby-colour cabochon-set crown, a rare departure from the traditional blue sapphire cabochon of that period. The watch is housed in the LM 30mm Santos Octagon case with an 18ct yellow gold octagonal bezel, making this super elegant piece an ideal choice for both men and women. This is a well-cared-for vintage Cartier, which remains beautifully preserved, showing only light signs of wear. The watch has recently undergone a full professional service by The Watch Lab in Geneva and is running as intended.

Dial - Fantastic vintage condition. Showing little signs of age, only minor imperfections visible under a loupe. To the naked eye, the dial looks beautiful.

Case - This piece boasts a two-tone stainless steel case with exposed gold screws which is in fantastic condition and shows common light wear including light surface scratches and a little abrasion showing on the bottom edge of the watch on one side, but this is not prominent or easily visible at all.

Crown - The crown is original and works perfectly in all of its functions. 

Movement - This piece encases its original Cartier automatic movement which is working perfectly and keeping perfect time and has recently undergone a full professional service by The Watch Lab in Geneva.

Case back - The case back is in amazing condition and shows just light scratches from use. 

Strap - The original Cartier bracelet is in fantastic condition, showing fine and light wear.

Crystal - The crystal if in excellent condition shows little signs of wear, very fine surface scratches that are visible only on close inspection.  

For a watch of this age, this piece is in spectacular order and is ready to wear!
