History

This extraordinary ladies' Omega watch, dating to 1982, is a rare British-market model crafted in 9ct solid gold. It represents a fascinating chapter in Omega's history. From the 1960s through to the 1980s, Omega commissioned renowned British goldsmiths and case makers to produce a number of 9ct gold watches exclusively for the UK market in order to comply with UK hallmarking regulations and import duties. These English-cased models are distinct from their Swiss-made counterparts and were produced in far smaller numbers than Omega's standard stainless steel and Swiss-made 18ct gold watches. Many have since been lost to their intrinsic gold value, making surviving examples increasingly difficult to find.

The English-made 9ct solid gold case and integrated bracelet are fully UK hallmarked and bear the London Assay Office marks, including the International Convention Common Control Mark (CCM) for 9ct gold, together with the original British sponsor's mark and Omega stamps.
