This model is a real engineering feat by Omega which was introduced in 1969. What makes it special is that it incorporates an alarm buzzer/bell which is powered by the same main spring that generates power for the movement. It was at the time an exciting new model and using a complex and unique movement it propelled Omega into a different class making this reference number very collectable indeed. The watch has a very attractive dial with a black and grey chapter ring with raised silver and black baton markers. The alarm function and indicators are very clear and easy to use once you know how. The alarm marker on the dial is orange and is set by moving the top alarm pusher out to position two which enables you to use the crown at position one to move the centre grey disc and orange time alarm markers to your set time by hour and minutes. For the alarm to be set to live, the alarm pusher must be pulled out to position one. When pushed in against the case the alarm will not go off. There is also a fully functional date complication which is set by an inset button between the crown and the alarm pusher. It is a unique and lovely thing to own as part of your collection! The watch is in brilliant condition and is showing signs of very light wear! Mechanically, the watch is working well and keeping good time within specification.
Dial - The dial is in beautiful condition and shows little signs of wear whatsoever! the baton markers are showing some minor oxidation.
Case - The stainless steel tonneau shaped case is in great condition showing only very light signs of wear due to age!
Crown - The crown is original and Omega signed. It is working perfectly in all of its functions. The alarm pusher and inset button for the date are all working as they should.
Movement - This watch is powered by its original and complex 980 Automatic movement which is working well and keeping good time. The automatic movement will power both the alarm and main movement.
Case back - The case back is fully original and features the famous Seamaster logo. Condition wise the case is good and shows some marks from tools.
Strap - This piece has been put on an aftermarket strap which suits the watch perfectly. It is brand new and mint.
Crystal - The acrylic crystal is in excellent condition and is showing minor signs of wear.
