This is an absolutely incredible and rare to find Omega Seamaster DeVille from the 1960s. This watch is even more special as it is a solid 14k gold variant which started life in the USA where the case was made by a company called Ross on behalf of Omega who then put the watch together as a way of avoiding import duties. This is the first such example that we have come across and it is a rare one as it incorporates a very attractive linen effect dial which looks superb. It is working perfectly and keeping time within specification.
Dial - The amazing line dial is in excellent condition for its age. There are marks and spots on the dial but at first glance to the naked eye these are hard to spot. A more thorough examination using magnification will reveal some marks at the top and bottom of the dial along with minor patina spots in various areas. Irrespective of this, it is a fantastic looking dial and its only when you see it in the flesh that you truly appreciate the beauty of this rare dial variant.
Case - The 14ct solid gold case is in excellent vintage condition and shows some light common signs of wear.
Crown - This watch features its original Omega signed crown which works perfectly in all of its functions.
Movement - The watch encases its original 560 automatic Omega movement which is in excellent mechanical condition.
Case back - The case back is also fully 14ct gold and is in great condition, showing only light scratches. The back features the famous Seamaster logo.
Strap - We have fitted a new leather strap.
Crystal - The acrylic is original with the Omega logo in the middle and is still in fantastic condition and also features a cyclops lense over the date window.
For a watch of this age, this piece is in spectacular order and is ready to wear!
