History
We’re honoured to offer the legendary Omega Speedmaster 105.012 — the exact reference worn on the Moon during Apollo 11.
With its Calibre 321 movement, asymmetric case, and DON bezel, this is a true grail.
Quite simply, the best and most competitively priced example on the market. A rare chance to own history.
Introduced in 1964, the 105.012 was a pivotal evolution in the Speedmaster line. It was the first reference to feature the now-iconic “asymmetric” case, with crown guards that protected the pushers — a design that has defined Speedmasters ever since. It was powered by the revered Calibre 321, a column-wheel chronograph movement known for its robustness and reliability.
But what truly sets the 105.012 apart is its role in the Apollo program. It was one of the models officially flight-qualified by NASA in 1965 after surviving extreme testing — including high temperatures, shocks, vibrations, and decompression — tests which many other watches failed.
Most significantly, the 105.012 is believed to be the exact reference worn by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. While Armstrong left his Speedmaster in the Lunar Module as a backup for the onboard clock, Buzz Aldrin wore his 105.012 on the Moon’s surface, making it the first watch worn on the Moon.
Collectors value the 105.012 not only for its historical role, but for details like the “Professional” text added to the dial, the DON (dot-over-ninety) bezel, and its pre-moon caseback. All of these combine to make the 105.012 one of the most iconic and desirable vintage Speedmasters ever made.
