History 

The Rolex Datejust 16014 was introduced in the late 1970s as part of the brand’s evolution into more modern wristwatch engineering. It features the Calibre 3035 automatic movement, notable for its quickset date function and higher beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, improving accuracy and offering Rolex’s signature smooth sweep. 

Condition

This is an absolutely stunning vintage Rolex Datejust reference number 16014 from the late 1980s which features an incredible silver tapestry dial with a date complication encased in a stainless steel case with a fluted 18ct white gold bezel, giving it both durability and elegance. Paired with an acrylic crystal and a Jubilee bracelet, the 16014 represents a transitional phase between vintage and modern Datejusts, making it a highly collectible and versatile classic. The watch has just had a full service and overhaul meaning that it is working perfectly within vintage specification. The watch has just undergone a full service and overhaul and is running perfectly, keeping excellent time within vintage specification. It retains all of its original Rolex components, including the dial, case, bezel, movement, bracelet and crown. The only exception is the hands, which are genuine Rolex Datejust 16014 service replacement hands fitted at some point during the watch's lifetime.

Dial - The dial is in brilliant condition, showing very little signs of age under magnification. 

Case - This piece features a stainless steel case with solid white 18ct gold bezel, which are in fantastic condition and show light signs of use. 

Crown - The crown is its original Rolex screw down with a quickset function, which allows you to set the date independently. The crown is in excellent condition and works perfectly in all of its functions. 

Movement - This model houses its original Rolex Calibre 3035 automatic movement, which is working perfectly. The watch has been serviced recently and is keeping excellent time within specification. 

Case back - The case back is original with all of its Rolex markings on the inner. It shows light common signs of wear from use over its decades of life. 

Bracelet - The original jubilee bracelet is in excellent condition, showing light wear and little flex. 

Crystal - The watch features an acrylic Cyclops crystal which was standard for Rolexes of this era. The crystal is in near-mint condition showing very little signs of wear under magnification.
