History 

The Rolex Datejust 1601 carries an iconic status representing a specific era of Rolex design and is considered the "daddy of the Datejusts" by some, setting the standard for modern Datejusts. This model was originally introduced in the late 1950s and features a stainless steel case, fluted bezel, and the caliber 1570 automatic movement. Renowned for its elegance, robustness and reliability, it is a collectors' favourite, which epitomises timeless design and technological innovation with historical significance, making this watch highly sought after. 

Condition

This is an absolutely stunning vintage example featuring a silver tone sunburst dial displaying a magnifying cyclops lens for the date display, all framed by the Datejust's signature fluted bezel. This piece has all of its original Rolex parts including the dial, bezel, crown and movement which is working perfectly, well within specification. Although this piece does not have its original box and papers, it has had its authenticity verified and an authenticity guarantee card will be provided.

Dial - The dial with its sunburst design is in excellent condition, proudly showing light vintage patina from aged tritium lume, adding to its vintage charm and historical value.

Case - This piece features a stainless steel case with a fluted bezel which are in fantastic condition and show very little signs of use and age. 

Crown - The crown is its original Rolex screw down and is in excellent condition, working perfectly in all its functions. 

Movement - This model houses its original Rolex Calibre 1570 automatic movement which is flawless in every way and is keeping fantastic time for a watch of this age. 

Case back - The case back is original with all of its Rolex markings on the inner. It shows light signs of wear from use over its decades of life. 

Strap - This piece comes on a high quality leather strap with a Rolex signed buckle.

Crystal - The watch features an acrylic crystal which was standard for Rolexes of this era. The crystal is in near mint condition showing very little signs of wear!
