Description

This fantastic ladies’ Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date from 1966 is a timeless heirloom. It features a stunning gold linen dial with a cross-hatch pattern, together with a date complication displayed beneath an acrylic crystal with Cyclops magnifier. The classic stainless-steel case is enhanced by a solid 18ct yellow-gold bezel and crown. Completing the watch is its original, highly collectible vintage Rolex expandable riveted bracelet, along with a Rolex presentation box.

Produced only during the 1950s and 1960s, these bracelets were intentionally designed with internal springs that allow the links to stretch and contract, providing a more comfortable fit on the wrist. Remarkably, this mechanism remains in perfect working order some 60 years later.

This excellent example remains in remarkable condition for its age and is working flawlessly in all respects, keeping excellent time within vintage specifications.

Condition

Dial - The dial is in fantastic condition, marks free, showing only little age on markers, lume and hands under magnification.

Case - The stainless steel case with a solid 18ct yellow gold fluted bezel is in fantastic condition, showing little signs of wear and maintaining its original finishing excellently with its original finish sharp and clear, which is rare for a watch of this age.

Crown - The original Rolex solid 18ct gold crown works perfectly in all of its functions, operating smoothly for both winding and time-setting operations.

Movement - The Rolex Cal. 1161 automatic movement is working flawlessly, keeping excellent time within specification for a watch of this age.

Case back - The case back is also original and in fantastic condition, showing only very light signs of wear with perfectly clear marking on the inside.

Strap - This watch comes with its original and special Rolex bracelet described above. It remains in exceptional condition for is age, with only light signs of wear. 

Crystal - The crystal is in perfectly clear condition, showing very slight signs of wear on the outer edges under a loupe.

For a watch of this age, this piece is in spectacular order and represents a fantastic in vintage Rolex collecting or everyday wear!
