History 

The Rolex Datejust 1601 is an iconic reference in Rolex’s long-running Datejust line, produced from the early 1960s through the late 1970s. It epitomises mid-20th-century Rolex design and helped cement the Datejust as a timeless classic.

Condition

This is an absolutely stunning vintage Rolex Datejust reference number 1601 from the 1970s which features a timeless two-tone jubilee bracelet and a very special fluted bezel. The watch has just had a full service and overhaul meaning that it is working perfectly within specification. This piece has all of its original Rolex parts including the dial, bezel, movement, bracelet and crown. Although this piece doesn’t have its original box and papers, it has had its authenticity verified and an authenticity guarantee card will be provided.

Dial - Mint 

Case - This piece features a stainless steel case which is in fantastic condition and shows very little signs of use. 

Crown - The crown is its original Rolex screw down and is in excellent condition and works perfectly in all of its functions. 

Movement - This model houses its original Rolex Calibre 1570 automatic movement which is flawless in every way. The watch has been serviced recently and is keeping fantastic time for a watch of this age. 

Case back - The case back is original with all of its Rolex markings on the inner. It shows some signs of wear from use over its decades of life. 

Bracelet - The original 18ct gold and steel jubilee bracelet is in incredible condition for its age. It shows little flex or wear whatsoever. 

Crystal - The watch features an acrylic crystal which was standard for Rolexes of this era. The crystal is in fantastic condition showing very little signs of wear.
