History 

The Rolex Air-King 5700 Date is a timepiece that emerged in the mid-1950s as part of Rolex's Air series, initially designed for pilots. With its iconic design and precision, it quickly became a symbol of aviation heritage and functionality. The 5700 Date model, introduced in the late 1950s, featured a date complication, adding practicality to its elegant aesthetics. Over the years, the Air-King 5700 Date has evolved with advancements in technology and design while maintaining its classic appeal. Today, it continues to be a sought-after watch, cherished for its timeless style and reliability.

Condition

This 1970s Rolex Air-King is in excellent condition. The watch shows very little signs of wear and features a linen finish silvered dial which has one minor mark between 11 and 12 and a very small minor mark between 8 and 9. The rest of the dial is excellent with only minor marks which you would need a loupe to see. Overall the watch presents extremely well, especially when you bear in mind that it is 56 years old!

Dial - Minor marks most of which are not visible to the naked eye.

Case - The stainless steel case is in fantastic condition and shows limited wear as you you would expect of a watch that has been well cared for. 

Crown - The crown is its original Rolex screw down and is in excellent condition and works perfectly in all of its functions. 

Movement - This piece is powered by its original Rolex calibre 1535 automatic which is working perfectly. This piece is keeping fantastic time and all of its functions are working perfectly. The date is set by winding the hands forward.  

Case back - The case back is original with all of its Rolex markings on the inner. It shows some signs of wear from use over its decades of life. 

Bracelet - This piece features its original Oyster bracelet which has some minor dinks, but otherwise presents very well.

Crystal - The watch features an acrylic crystal which was standard for Rolexes of this era. The crystal is in near mint condition.
