Condition

We are pleased to offer this classic Rolex Oyster Perpetual Automatic from 1978, accompanied by its original papers. It features a striking black sunburst dial, enhanced by simple baton hour markers and matching hands. The dial shows gentle signs of age to the hands and indices, adding a layer of honest vintage character. Housed in the iconic stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth polished bezel, the watch is further paired with its original bracelet and Rolex-signed clasp. Powered by a reliable automatic movement, it is running well and keeping excellent time. The watch remains in stunning overall condition, with all parts confirmed original.

Dial - The dial is in fantastic vintage condition, showing mild patina and age on hands and indices on closer inspection, adding to its vintage value and character.

Case - This piece features a stainless steel case which is in fantastic condition and shows only extremely light signs of use.

Crown - The crown is its original Rolex screw down and is in excellent condition and works perfectly in all of its functions. 

Movement - This model houses its original Rolex Calibre 1570 automatic movement which is flawless in every way and is keeping fantastic time for a watch of this age. 

Case back - The case back is original with all of its Rolex markings on the inner. It shows only very fine signs of wear from use over its decades of life. 

Bracelet - The original Oyster bracelet is in incredible condition showing just light wear for its age. 

Crystal - The watch features an acrylic crystal which was standard for Rolexes of this era. The crystal is in excellent condition showing little to no signs of wear.
