History 

The Rolex Datejust 16078 “Bark Finish” is a striking variation of Rolex’s iconic line, introduced in the late 1970s. Crafted in 18k yellow gold, it features a unique bark-textured bezel adding depth and character to its luxurious design. Powered by the caliber 3035 movement with quickset date functionality, this 36mm classic pairs technical innovation with bold aesthetics. Condition

This is an absolutely stunning vintage Rolex Day-Date reference number 16078 from the 1970s which features a stunning and rare bark finish bezel. The watch has just had a full service and overhaul meaning that it is working perfectly within specification. This piece has all of its original Rolex parts including the dial, bezel, movement, buckle and crown. This piece comes complete with its original leather box and TWW authenticity guarantee card. 

Dial - Fantastic condition - showing little to no signs of wear.  

Case - This piece features a solid 18ct yellow gold case which is in fantastic condition showing very little signs of wear whatsoever. 

Crown - The crown is its original Rolex screw down and is in excellent condition and works perfectly in all of its functions. 

Movement - This model houses its original Rolex Calibre 3035 automatic movement which is flawless in every way. The watch has been serviced recently and is keeping perfect time. 

Case back - The case back is original with all of its Rolex markings on the inner. It shows just some very light signs of wear from use over its decades of life. 

Bracelet - This piece has been put on a fantastic leather strap which has retained its original 18k gold Rolex buckle.
