History 

The Rolex Day-Date, launched in 1956, was the first wristwatch to display both the day of the week spelled out in full and the date simultaneously. Produced exclusively in precious metals such as gold and platinum, it soon became an icon of refinement and authority. Its distinctive President bracelet, designed specifically for the model, added to its prestige. Worn by world leaders, visionaries, and influential figures, the Day-Date earned its nickname, the “President’s Watch.” Over the decades, it has remained a symbol of power, elegance, and timeless style, representing Rolex’s mastery of innovation, precision, and luxury watchmaking tradition.

Condition

This is an absolutely stunning vintage Rolex Day-Date reference number 18038 from the mid 1980s which features a stunning and rare bark finish presidential bracelet and a very special bark finish bezel. The watch has just had a full service and overhaul meaning that it is working perfectly within specification. This piece has all of its original Rolex parts including the dial, bezel, movement, bracelet and crown. This piece comes complete with its original leather box and TWW authenticity guarantee card. 

Dial - Mint

Case - This piece features a solid 18ct yellow gold case which is in fantastic condition showing very little signs of wear whatsoever. 

Crown - The crown is its original Rolex screw down and is in excellent condition and works perfectly in all of its functions. 

Movement - This model houses its original Rolex Calibre 3055 automatic movement which is flawless in every way. The watch has been serviced recently and is keeping perfect time. 

Case back - The case back is original with all of its Rolex markings on the inner. It shows just some very light signs of wear from use over its decades of life. 

Bracelet - The original 18ct gold presidential bracelet is in superb condition and shows very little signs of flex and wear.
