This is a rare and truly captivating vintage Rolex cocktail watch dating back to the late 1950s. This elegant timepiece features a solid 9ct gold case paired with a beautifully crafted 10ct gold and red bracelet, both preserved in stunning vintage condition. Mechanically, the watch is running flawlessly and keeping excellent time within specification. This watch represents a rare opportunity to own an authentic and highly desirable vintage Rolex from an important period in the brand’s history.

History

Rolex’s earliest ladies’ cocktail watches first emerged during the 1920s and 1930s. By the late 1940s, Rolex introduced the “Precision” designation, reflecting an elevated standard of accuracy and craftsmanship. The late 1950s and 1960s are widely regarded as the golden era of Rolex cocktail watches, characterised by larger case sizes and increasingly elaborate bracelet designs, much like the present example. These beautifully styled timepieces offer a fascinating insight into the evolution of Rolex ladies’ watchmaking during one of the brand’s most elegant and creative periods.

Dial - The beautiful silver tone satin dial with gold markers and hands remain in a stunning vintage condition, showing graceful signs of age on closer look.

Case - The solid 9ct case is in fantastic shape for a watch of this age and shows just light signs of wear. 

Crown - The large and easy to operate original, Rolex signed crown works perfectly in all of its functions and remains in very nice vintage condition as the rest of the watch. 

Movement - The watch encases its original Rolex manual wind movement which is working very well and keeping excellent time. 

Case back - The solid 9ct gold original case back shows light signs of wear and has all the original markings on the inside nice and clear. 

Strap - This piece has an amazing original 10ct gold Rolex strap with a red leather insert, which is in excellent condition and shows only light wear.

Crystal - The crystal is in fantastic condition, with no visible signs of wear, only showing fine imperfections under magnification.
