Description

This fabulous ladies’ Universal Genève reference 542683 is a rare and highly collectible vintage timepiece from 1978. It features the distinctive flower-shaped case, known among collectors as the “Bottlecap” or “Seashell” design. This example is an even rarer gold-electroplated variant, with a striking black dial and gold hands. The watch is running excellently and keeping accurate time, offering both distinctive vintage charm and impressive performance.

Condition

Dial - Fantastic condition, showing beautiful spidering. 

Case - Brilliant condition - the gold electroplated stainless steel decorative case shows only minimal signs of careful wear.

Crown - The crown is original and Universal stamped. It works perfectly in all of its functions and remains in excellent condition. 

Movement - The watch encases its original Universal manual wind movement, which is working perfectly and keeping excellent time within vintage specifications. 

Case back - The original stainless steel case back is in excellent condition, showing light common signs of wear.

Strap - The watch is presented on a new leather strap and is re-fitted with its original Universal signed gold plated buckle.
