Description

This is a stunning and uncommon vintage Universal Geneve from the 1980s, in exceptional condition. The standout feature is its complete set of Arabic numerals which, rather than all facing 12 o’clock, are arranged radially around the dial. Each numeral is turned to follow its position on the hour track, so as the watch is rotated through a full circle, the numeral nearest the top can always be read upright. The unusual and playful design is further elegantly complemented by softly curved leaf hands and a date complication encased in a squared, rounded-corner case with claw lugs and raised gold-tone bezel. The watch is presented in outstanding working and cosmetic condition, working very well and keeping excellent time within vintage specification.

Condition

Dial - Near-mint condition, showing only tiny imperfections, which are only visible at close inspection.

Case - Exceptional condition - the stainless steel case with gold plated bezel show only minimal signs of careful wear.

Crown - The crown is fully original and Universal stamped. It works perfectly in all of its functions and remains in excellent condition. 

Movement - The watch encases its original Universal Geneve Quartz movement, which is working very well, keeping excellent time. 

Case back - The original case back is in fantastic condition, showing only minimal signs of wear.

Strap - The watch is presented on an aftermarket leather strap fitted with a Universal Geneve signed buckle, which remain in incredible unworn condition matching the fantastic condition of the watch itself.

Crystal - Near-mint condition, no visible wear.
